Overview

About

In 2019, I participated in a hackathon hosted by ADP, focusing on solving various business challenges. My impromptu team of 5 chose to address the issue of salary negotiation. Through innovative thinking and effective teamwork, we developed a solution that earned us first place in Georgia and third place worldwide. This achievement exemplifies my ability to collaborate on complex problems and deliver successful solutions.

Problem

In the American workforce, the inability to effectively negotiate or understand job offers leads to pay disparities among employees with similar qualifications, based on their negotiation prowess. The challenge extends to employers and employees alike in determining fair market salaries, fostering situations of under-offering and rejection of competitive offers.

Solution

As the world’s largest payroll provider, ADP has data that could be leveraged in an accessible tool to facilitates fair and informed negotiation and evaluation of compensation packages. Due to time constraints, we built only the worker’s solution.

Retrospection

We assumed we had to stop working at end of business time, and later found out we could have worked longer. We would have loved to presented a working prototype.
